Prayers for comfort and peace to the family.
Myrtle Woodlief Dean, 80, passed away Friday, January 14, 2017 at Duke University Medical Center. A lifetime resident of Granville County, she was predeceased by her parents Rufus E. Woodlief and Mary Belle Beaver. She was also predeceased by her husband Jesse William Dean.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Eakes Funeral Chapel in Oxford. Burial will be held at Tabbs Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM prior to the funeral at the Eakes Funeral Home and other times at the home of Linda and Louis Daniel, 415 Pine St., Stovall NC. Flowers are accepted.
Mrs. Dean is survived by her daughters Nancy Cromer (Bruce), Linda Daniel (Louis), and Judy Dean Redden, two sons, William L. Dean (Sarah) and Donald R. Dean, 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren, 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Father, we ask you to send your peace to the persons who are mourning. Continue to surround them with family, friends and loved ones who will offer words of comfort. Give them sweet and restful sleep. Father, remove the spirit of heaviness, and give them garments of praise. In due time, bless their lives to overfow with laughter and joy again. As they take refuge in you, please help them to put their trust in you. Holy spirit, we ask that you settle the hearts and minds of those who are feeling any guilt, resentment, bitteress or anger. Help them not to look back but to press forward.

Mamaw told me she liked that hat on me and it looked good. So I put it on her head and took a picture of her and me. She laughed so hard she always said your such a fool. Man I miss her already.
